I cant help but think the party at school and then partying at Chuck E Cheeses is a bit much. He'll be exhausted, not to mention you and your husband afterwards too. Then again I dont have kids and after I spend 15 minutes with a kid I feel like someone slipped me a Ativan or Ambien. But it seems a bit overkill for a three year old, but I dont have kids and have never celebrated anything so my credibility on this subject is null and void.

As A JW You Never Have Time To Smell The Roses
by minimus inyou always were cramming to get to the next assignment.
you had to personal study, read your daily text, read the bible daily, prepare for field service, prepare for meetings, get to them at the proper time, preach as much as possible, etc.
we never truly enjoyed life..

I just got back from field service and right before I walked to my car to leave, a car group full of brothers and sisters pulled up. From the back someone called my name. The car had tinted windows so couldnt see who. The driver yelled out to me who it was said they wanted to know if I can work with the tomorrow after the meeting. I'm like, "damn." Anymore I prefer the work week over the JW weekend.
It all is a bit much at times, and the WT uses their articles like a bullhorn with a 12" subwoofer going, "MORE, MORE, MORE!"

What one thing would you say...
by problemaddict inwhile i am still kind of new on my journey here, and may have a mixed bag of similarties and differences with all of you, i am in fact fading away from the religion of my youth.
in doing so, i have mostly been left alone.
meaning, my friends and family generally know i am "having a hard time" with a few things.

Your overanxious tonight lol! Me personally, I would politely decline being that you already know how this works. You know they didnt invite just to hang out. They mean well so dont waste theirs or your time. I wouldnt attempt planting seeds either. You're more likely to raise red flags and incite shepherding calls rather than wake anybody up.

JW says yes to plasma and platelets, husband then says NO!
by snare&racket in27 yr old female patient with ruptured ectopic pregnancy, sees the light and says yes to plasma and platelets.... she is then sedated.
her husband then declares she cant have the plasma and platelets and doctors are forced to go to court.
the risk of her death or permenant damage increasing by the hour.. the doctors decreed she had full capacity and right to autonomy when she relinquished her previos stand on blood.

Gene Smalley is pissed that this woman wasn't delivered as a sacrifice to Molech Jehovah. God is going to remove his spirit from that congregation until that woman is delivered as an offering.

Congratulations! I bet you're a hot topic of conversation amongst local JWs right now. They probably credit Satan as the reason behind your success.

Quick question, did you feel lonely at the meetings even though you were part of the action?
by Theocratic Sedition injust curious, something i've noticed only lately.
i'm in the mix within the congregation, stay late after the meeting is over, converse with quite a few people afterwards, make plans for saturday and sometimes sunday service and yet i feel so awfully alone walking to my car afterwards.
i feel lonely when i'm talking and laughing with people after the meeting.

Wow, I REALLY want to thank you for your insight, laughs, and hugs. Mostly your insight and experiences. I thought I'd been through all the emotions typical of this dual agent role, but this sort of loneliness is new to me. I hope any lurkers viewing this can see they're not the only ones going through this or have went through this.

How Many Friends Did You Lose Over This Election?
by JustMeNonJDub ini lost one, and i am saddened by it.
i may disagree with friends over politics and/or religion, but the only reason i would cut off a friend is if they betrayed me.
anyone else lost friends or cut off friends because of politics or religion?.

Losing friends over this election is lot like losing friends within Da Troof. It's hard to make the case that they were ever your friends in the first place. You were simply tolerated so long as you fit within the parameters of their ideology. The second that changed, they dropped you like the non-friend you were to them in the first place.

I feel lonely when I'm talking and laughing with people after the meeting. Feel alone when I have a partner with me in field service. Feel alone at recreational settings with other JWs. I mean I'm in the mix, but I feel alone for some reason.
Did you ever feel like that? Its weird.
